The Coral Bark Maple gives four seasons of beauty to enhance any landscape. Leaves come out bright green in the spring and maintaining green leaves until fall color turns them brillant yellow and orange. The new growth branches are a coral red, which absolutely efferveces and sparkles in our winters here. The Coral Bark only grows a moderate 20 ft and will fit in any urban landscape with style and beauty. She would prefer shade in the hot afternoon sun of our brutalist summers.
Plant in well drained decent soil at root ball depth. Be attentive to water needs the first 3 years, especially in the hotter days of summer. Also appreciates 3" of mulch over the root zone but not against the trunk to maintain a moderate temperature for the roots. Only growns about a foot a year. One of the easist Japanese Maples to take care of.
